HEY GOP!!!!
Did you come for High Voltage this thursday?? If you didnt, you missed an awesome 2h session of praising, worshipping, tesimonial sharing and praying. Prayer is important in our everyday lives so do try to make it for the next High Voltage in February!
Anyway, Aunty Aye Lan shared an AWESOME message about Honour and Respect! No she did not only share about honouring your families but those around you and above all, our Father in heaven! Honour means to value, to treat something as gold. Respect is giving something or someone a sense of worth and esteem.

Jesus was restrained and COULD not do any mighty works in Nazareth, His OWN hometown. He was without honour and was looked down upon by His own honetown. Because of that, His deeds were limited and He could not do anything without the faith of the people, who were expecting a greater leader.
Which is why it is very important to honour people. When we honour people, we in turn are honouring God. When we acknowledge the people we see in our everyday lives, it makes a difference to their lives and God deserves all honour!

Jesus was only 30 days old when Simeon, a devout Christian, rushed to honour Him! And yet when Jesus was 30 years old, His hometown had turned their backs against Him!

Only when we have the faith to know that God can do anything, He would do exceedingly and abundantly! All we have to do is honour and respect Him and the easiest way we show someone that we honour them is by obedience. Do we show our parents that we honour them by obeying their requests?
There are many ways we can honour God
1) Honour God by doing what He likes [1 Samuel 2:30]
All God wants is us. Give Him ALL of our time and prioritize Him above everything else in our agenda.
2) Honour His presence
Give Him our full attention during service or during Quiet Time
3) Honour His Word
Read the Bible everyday!
4) Honour is people
Honour the people who has placed before you as your leaders like your cell leaders and your overseers. Maybe even your friends or classmates and teachers.
Remember that we have to be happy and cheerful even in our most tired and oppressed days because we have to be the change and the difference in our schools. Honour your friends and teachers and show them that having Christ makes a difference. So GOPers, go out this week to bless your schools.

Hey GoP! It's been 2 weeks into school and how have you all been faring? :)
Thinking a lot about homework, exams, stress? On Saturday, 16 Jan Ps Mark preached on He who controls your thoughts, control YOU.
It's especially when the thoughts of school and stress come in, where we have to really guard our thoughts, against thoughts that discourage, thoughts that are evil, and thoughts that are not of God.

What can we do to start thinking right?
1. Self-Evaluation – Consider what our thinking is like
2. Start to think in God’s way

b. Meditation is a process that causes our thinking to change
3. Program our thinking
a. Unless our thinking changes, nothing else will change

e. Recognize that some thoughts may not be from God
f. Reject those thoughts

The mind exercises considerable influence over the body. Many times we are limiting God by our thinking.
a) The mind can cause us to accomplish things or not
b) The mind is capable of making us sick/well

-90% of headaches are caused because of feelings like anxiety or stress

HEY GOP!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It's the beginning of 2010 and we started out with a great service with our very own, Sarah Lin! Unlike other new year services, Sarah Lin started off with a bang by getting us to tear up our new year goals. As she had said, goals and plans are unimportant when the we don't understand the meaning behind it. When our heart isn't goals, everything we do about it will be meaningless.
So Sarah shared about Positioning Yourself To Grow. She described everyone of us as a seed waiting to be germinated, emerging from a period of dormancy. A seed only germinates when the conditions are favourable for growth, in other words, when there is a presence of water, oxygen, light and warmth.
Every seed has a seed coat surrounding it that prevents the seed form breaking. It it through the cracks and the heat of the seed coat which allows the seed to absorb water. In the same way, only through the problems that God put in our lives can we mature and then be able to receive more of Jesus whom is the living water.
When we are unwilling to step out of our comfort zone and go through the trials and obstacles placed before us, we will not be able to grow more in Jesus Christ and let Him flow into us. When we align ourselves with God's plans, we are in the right position for growth. Trust and obey God.
In every seed, there are germination inhibitors that prevents the seed from growing before the conditions are right. In the same way, unless we recognise our situations and the need of those around us, our seed coat will never crack and we won't grow.
Every tree planted bears fruits filled with seeds. In the same way, we have to be the seeds that grow into trees to bear more fruits and disperse into our communities.
So GOP, here are some of our goals to help us grow:
God - Prayer
1) Attend High Voltage meetings (prayer meetings)
2) Start school cells to pray for the school (there is no better place to reach out for your friends)
Jesus - The Living Word
1) Complete the bible while you're still in GOP (knowledge is important)
2) Attend Daybreak (there's no place beter to learn about the bible)
Holy Spirit - Empowerment
Pray in tongues for 10-15minutes a day (build up your spirit man)
Me - Decisions
1) Do your QT everyday (spending time with God is key to your relationship with Him)
2) Save $1 a day
3) Study 14h hours a week
Others - Loving others
1) 1 to 1 in 1 (reaching out to our friends is still important!)
2) Let's achieve our goal of 200 GOPers
3) Love those in your family and school unconditionally by doing kind acts)
So GOP, let's start out the new year by bearing fruits that will disperse into our communities. Before we can do that, we have to grow individually in Christ. Live your life with purpose and follow the aims with meaning.

Hey GoP! I’m sure all of you have enjoyed Breakout camp and received your personal breakthrough from God! Let’s remain hungry and faithful in what God can do as He has so much more in plan for us for 2010! There were also many testimonies shared by our fellow GoPers who received a touch from God. We can sure confirm that God is moving mightily in our GoP.
During the camp, we have learned many new lessons from God, such as Saying Yes to God’s word, in which by doing so, you will be favoured, loved and protected by God in your quest at doing His work! Secondly, we have learnt to dine at God’s table. To dine means to be entertained at dinner, it does not mean the simple action of eating. Instead, you dine in a high class restaurant, and not at 7-11. God’s table provides many gifts for us, and we should all take time in enriching ourselves in Him and His gifts. Pastor Chris Long also shared about the power of the Name. Our own name contains a prophecy in us, and if we speak our name into the situation, the situation will turn in the direction however we speak it to be. Shaunster also shared about moment and opportunities and lastly, Pastor Mark wrapped up on Despise Not, in which this generation should not be despised because of our youth, speech or character and that we should not despise others in the same manner. Pastor Mark also shared about how he saw God performing an operation in which He removed a heart and replaced with a new version of a heart. God had indeed GoP a new heart to run this race!
Durin the service, Shaunster shared on a short message. The main focus was on Genesis 38, on the story of Judah and Tamar. Judah had 3 sons, Er, Onan and Shelah. Judah took a wife, Tamar and wanted to marry her to his sons. Unfortunately, for Er, he was wicked in God’s sight, and God put Him to death. Onan also displeased God, and God slewed him. The only left was Shelah, but he was too young to marry. Tamar soon travelled away, and she covered herself with a veil. Judah, also walked down the same road, and lay with Tamar, as he could not see her face, and got her pregnant. In return, Judah gave Tamar his signet, and bracelets, and staff. When Judah saw that Tamar was pregnant, he was really angry, and wanted to burn her. However, Tamar showed Judah his signet, bracelets and staff he had given her. Judah acknowledged her for being more righteous than he, and Tamar gave birth to twins, Pharez, who came out first and Zarah next .
The symbolic meaning in this scripture is that Pharez means to ‘breakout’, and it was from Judah, whom he broke out. Judah means ‘praise’, and we only want to breakout from praise. Onan means ‘own strength’ and Er means ‘own vision’. Hence, we do not want to break out if our own strength and our own vision, but through praise! So, praise God no matter what circumstance and situation we are in, and everything that He has done for us. So, let’s leave with praise in out hearts as we head towards 2010!

HEY GOP!
Hope that you had come for today's service because Sarah Lin had shared an awesome sermon about our camp verse, Matthew 5: 13-16.
Firstly, it is stated that we have to be like a city on a hill. A city represents bright lights and the hill represents elevation. We have to be a generation of elevation.
- Elevation is like a hill, high up where our light can shine brightly for everyone to see. We have to be that light for everyone.
- Elevation is also moving higher and higher. Just like that, our youth group has to be constantly growing, continuously doing our quiet time.
- Elevation is also making the people around us happy, lifting the moods of others around us. We have to affect the community that way, giving off a positive atmosphere.
- Elevation also means rising in pitch and volume. We cannot be a quiet generation if we want to impact others. We have to speak out in love, raising our volume in praising God.
It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Secondly, we cannot let our light be covered by a bowl! We have to let our light shine brightly and not let it be extinguished by fear, sin, bad thoughts or past bad experiences. We cannot let our light be extinguished by fear of loneliness and insecurities, bad habits or giving up from the lack of motivation. There is a story behind every face in the community and it's our job to find that need. A bad attitude and spirit leads to a worthless outcome. It is not about ourselves but others. God will always bless us when we give.
There are many needs around us and all we have to do is not turn a blind eye to them. Community is personal and has to come from the heart!
So GOPers, think about it. What is your motivating factor? What is the reason why we help the people around us? Do it not for yourselves but for others. Increase our love capacity because it's through us that love flows from God to those around us. So show love to those around us because we love because He first love us.

Visual Arts Ministry (VAM)
VAM’s purpose is to help broadcast GoP to the world, to help bring across GoP’s mission and purpose, using visual means. This is because curious people not only want to hear about God and His people; they really want to see for themselves what’s going on. So VAM is set up, because we want to let people know our passion for Christ, and deep love for God and what is happening in GoP.
If you are a visual person, with creativity that you don’t know how to use, we would gladly welcome you to join us as a VAMFIRE, to serve and show your burning FIRE and hunger for Christ! Come join us and let GoP burn even BRIGHTER for Him! :D

• Blog technicians: Love fiddling around with blogskins? Yes! You’d be the one who would help beautify this very blog that you are reading right now.

Dance Ministry (Dedi-K-ted)
Dedi-K-ted is the name we go by - Dancing Evangelists who are Disciplined, and have an Intimate relationship with the King, and we're living in the Truth EveryDay. That title alone will most probably speak for itself.
We cater to a wide range of dance styles from hip hop to b-boying to street jazz, and no formal dance background is required. All we need from you is the interest in dance, a heart for serving God and of course the ability to enjoy yourself at the same time. So if you want to impact a generation out there for God using dance as a form of language, this is the ministry for you! Or, just feel free to pop by during our practice sessions to learn and have fun.

We’re fun-loving people with different kind of musical talents. We not only serve God using our instruments or our voice but we sing worship to the Lord through our inner soul. If you are interested in joining us, what’s stopping?! Come! If you’re not technically equipped, we will help you with that. We JAM, CRASH, SHOUT & PRAY. Our prayer is always that God could use us to bring GoP to the next higher level.

Ushers
Ushers, like how the name suggest we usher people, welcoming them into the house of God. We tend to be the very first person you see before you enter the service hall.
Here in ushers ministry,we hope to bring joy to all who comes in, to give them a smile in the worst day and a warm hand shake with much love.
To put it simply,we want carry God's joy and love and spread it to everyone else.
Other than that, we provide direction to all the people who are new and lost or ensure that they are going the right place for service. This helps to ensure that they feel a sense of belonging and not helpless, wanted and not ignored.
And of course,passing the offering bags and giving out materials for sermon or events are also part of our wonderful ushering job. :)

L.A Unit
The Logistics and Atmosphere Unit (L.A Unit) was started in 2003 to help connect all the other ministries of CFC together, acting as a “Middle Man” to them. Currently, the L.A Unit provides logistics and manpower services to both GOP and YA, especially during events and parties.
The L.A Unit is divided into 3 different departments, all of which are inter-dependant on one another, which are Admin and Accounts, Manpower and Security.

• Admin and Accounts
The Admin and Accounts department handles all paper work, catalogues and statistic(acting as the statistic supervisor and the researchers for the Youth Group they play a very important role in helping us understand where we are, have been and is going.)
• Manpower
The Manpower department does all the ground works, from setting up of decorations for an event to clearing up after the even and also for any form of physica labours that CFC or the Church requires help with.
• Security
The Security department provides the safety side of our Youth Group and Church, which handles the flow of crowds, the belongings in specific rooms and to guard money transactions, especially during registration of events and movement of money.

Sound
Having an almighty God gracing our service every week and the bonus of a wonderful music team on the frontline to usher us through the gates of praise, youth service is often the place anyone would want to be at on a Saturday evening.
While the music team's role is to usher the congregation through the gates of praise, the sound ministry is hidden behind the scenes and is responsible for delivering the message and the music with clarity to the congregation.
Your job is mainly to provide and help out in the technical areas throughout the service.

Our ministry specializes in the administrative side of Generation of Promise, which encompasses accounts, mailing lists, budgets, database and attendance. We possess the expertise for all things meticulous and mathematical.
• Accounts: For events, you're the one helping the committee member in charge of accounts to close it/check for accuracy.
• Database: You're the one updating the database whenever there are new additions to GoP.
